ABOUT US
Welcome to our website,
my name is Robert Tewkesbury, I am the proprietor of Tewkesbury
Kitchens, my company was established in Crawley, West Sussex in
1993, since then we have installed over 1500 kitchens, bedrooms
and studies from small inexpensive projects to high quality large
semi bespoke commissions. We have gained a reputation for innovative
design, high standards of workmanship and overall excellence of
service. Our service is based on attention to detail, listening
to our customers needs and most importantly that the project is
on time and on budget, all this can only be carried out by a company
with true dedicated professionals.
There is a saying in the
design and construction industry, ¨You are only as good as your
last job¨ this means that a company can have an outstanding
reputation but it could be ruined by one mistake, that is why being
a perfectionist, I make sure personally that every detail is followed,
that you the customer is consulted, and kept informed at all stages
of the project and that if in the very unlikely event of a problem
occurring, it is dealt with immediately and without fuss, this is
very important to me as my customers must be nothing short of delighted
with the finished article.
All this may sound expensive,
it is not, a professionally designed project will save you money
because absolutely all aspects of the job will be covered leaving
no nasty surprises. We buy direct from the manufacturer, this means
the cost of a quality product to us is much lower. Instead of a
showroom, sample products are bought to you to view in the natural
light of your home and with my assistance and the use of computer
aided design, it is easy to visualize your perfect living and working
environment, this means that our operating costs are low which in
turn means you pay less. Its simple, quality product professionally
designed and installed that costs less.

DESIGN
Before you meet with our
designer, you would have probably built up a wish list of items
you would like to see in your new fitted furniture project, the
list would probably include your preferred furniture style, i.e.
contempory or traditional, type of worksurface, storage requirements,
appliances and maybe an idea of general layout. All this is important
as it will form the foundation, it is then the designers responsibility
to discuss possibilities and ideas with you, what is practical and
affordable within your budget, and then take your ideas to the next
level.
Design in todays market
is changing, boundaries are being pushed, general rules are slowly
fading away, new exciting products are appearing every day, we take
an active approach and research new products and design ethics,
we feel this is essential to maintain our level of service. Much
emphasis is put on CAD systems ( computer aided design ), we take
the view that it is a tool, a useful aid to the design process,
a way of showing our ideas to you in a realistic format, but it
never leads our design.
DELIVERY
Our aim is to deliver your
kitchen, bedroom or study 100% complete, without damage and on time.
A great deal of research has been done by us to find suppliers that
will not let us down, this is important as when we agree a start
date for your project, the materials must arrive on time and undamaged,
this is actually not a difficult thing to achieve.
Delivery availability for
The Ultimate Collection is 3 Weeks, it is 7 days for Second Nature
and Classic units and accessories, appliances are delivered twice
weekly, installation dates are usually agreed for the week after
delivery.
INSTALLATION
No matter how good the product
is or how good the design is, if a fitted furniture project is not
installed correctly it will either look shoddy, start to fall apart,
present a safety risk or all of the above, that is why we maintain
high levels of workmanship at all times.
Joinery is a trade that
takes many years to learn, you will be able to see the skill of
the installer from the finish of the work, most able people can
assemble and install basic furniture to a reasonable level, but
when it comes to something as important as your kitchen, bedroom
or study, it is best left to a professional who will complete the
job swiftly and expertly. After all it is easier to do the job right
in the first place rather than go back and do it again.
Fitted furniture installation
requires many skills, many of which must meet with today's legal
requirements, electrical, gas and plumbing are the three main areas
to be addressed, you will probably not see much of the work associated
with these trades once your project is complete, but if not installed
and tested correctly can represent a major safety risk. Tewkesbury
Kitchens is a CORGI registered company, this means we have been
legally deemed competent to carry out gas installations proficiently
and safely, click here for more information www.corgi-gas-safety.com
We hold electrical qualifications and are currently under going
registration to meet new requirements coming into force in 2005.
We are highly proficient in all aspects of furniture installation.
Along with furniture installation,
we will carry out any small building alterations you require to
accommodate your new project, this can include knocking down walls,
plastering, moving boilers, tilling and decorating, all of this
can be done in a relatively short space of time and synchronized
with the furniture installation to minimize inconvenience.
If you purchase a complete
package from us or would like us to install furniture you have bought
elsewhere, you will do so safe in the knowledge that it will be
fitted to the highest level of workmanship and backed up by safety
certificates and warranty.
